Calgary Street Sweeping Parking Bans

Updated June 1, 2026

Each spring, Calgary sweeps residential streets to clear winter sand and gravel. Temporary “No Parking” bans go up so the sweepers can reach the curb — and vehicles left behind get ticketed.

How the street sweeping ban works

Residential street-sweeping no-parking bans run Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Temporary “No Parking” street-sweeping signs are posted at least 24 hours before sweeping begins on your block.

Vehicles left on the street during the posted ban are subject to ticketing. Move your car off the street before the ban window.

The program generally runs April through June.

How to find your community’s dates

Check the City of Calgary’s Street Sweeping map (maps.calgary.ca/streetsweeping) or call 311 to find when your community is scheduled. Watch for the temporary signs on your block, which give the exact 24-hour notice.
